well first if it is dial up forget it because it not compatiable with most wireless. but i suggest a belkin wireless router and a external wireless card unless wireless is built in, but if u need a external make sure they are the same brand and the router should have disk to set up a wireless internet connection and the card should fit in though the slot on the side of most laptops and come with a set up disk so ur computer and recieve the wirless connection

I’ve got a P4 ht computer, and I’m running firefox just fine. Is everything up to date? Or, better yet, untilstall Firefox completely, go to mozilla.com, download firefox again, reinstall and try it fresh without extentsions.

SPEED in GHZ and the numbers especailly intels actually mean something. i3 has 3 cores. i5 has five cores and i7 has seven cores. If you running games or advanced programs you need speed.

Question by sonicloud1982: How big is the difference between these two computer Processors?
I’m looking into buying a new laptop, mines about 4 years old and top of the line at the time. Now, I’m looking at a HP labtop and not sure why the processor is so expensive and says it’s the same ghz.

The one in my old laptop: Intel Centrino Duo t2400 1.83ghz 2gb ram
The one I’m looking at: Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-740QM Quad Core processor (1.73GHz, 6MB L3 Cache) w/Turbo Boost up to 2.93GHz

On the site where you customize the computer says that’s an extra $ 100. For $ 400, they’ll give you Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-840QM Quad Core processor (1.86GHz, 8MB L3 Cache) with Turbo Boost up to 3.2GHz

Is this really all that much faster than the one I’m using now? I’m not sure if it’s worth getting a new laptop right now, unless it’s a big improvement.

the core i7 is going to be a lot more faster then Intel Centrino Duo t2400.

but between the i7-740QM and the i7-840QM, there isn’t much difference.

if your new laptop is going to be a 64 bit processor, I’d recommend getting more ram then usual. that can speed things up a bit to.

out of those 2 you would want the second one then. there is more memory (not space, you didn’t mention that). The second one is also faster by about 400MHz on the processor, which is pretty noticeable. my suggestion for running multiple things at once is to get a dual core processor. a good one from AMD is an X2 3800+ and Core 2 Duo’s from intel are great too. the more RAM the better too.

What do you think? Answer below!
