Answer by The Future is Fusion
unless you want to overclock slightly, there’s no need for the cpu fan.

you could go for triple channel RAM, use motherboards with 6 RAM slots and buy a 3x4GB kit.

There are a lot of things you need to check aside from the obvious stuff like buying the right kind of RAM and making sure your motherboard socket matches your CPU.

If you’re buying optical drives and hard drives from or similar sites, many of the drives they sell are “OEM”. These won’t come with the appropriate cables and your motherboard probably only includes one SATA and one IDE cable. So you may need to purchase extra cables.

Power supply. There’s more to it than just wattage. Pay attention to the 12v rails. Cheaper power supplies especially may be rated for over 400W but have fewer than 20 amps on the 12v rail. Amps x volts = watts, and your 12v rails power the big stuff like your video card and CPU. Check on the manufacturer’s site to find recommended amps for the product or just invest in a good quality PSU. A good quality PSU will usually have 2 or more 12v rails with 40+ amps devoted to them.

Power connectors. Check the motherboard for the main power connector as well as the CPU connector and make sure that your PSU has the right number of pins. Also, check the PSU for SATA power connectors. Purchase adapters as necessary.

Expensive video cards are often very long. Make sure that the case you’re purchasing is large enough to fit the card. Also, check that the motherboard doesn’t have anything crucial placed directly behind the PCI-E slots. Many motherboards, particularly microATX boards, place SATA connectors right behind the PCIE slot so that when you pop a card in there you block your SATA connections!

But otherwise your selections look good. The CPU is right for the mobo and the mobo is right for the case. Your PSU should be sufficient.

The stuff above is just the less obvious stuff that people tend not to think about. And that’s what usually results in you having to wait an extra week for stupid things like cables or a different case.

I really don’t think you can build a 600 AUD PC that can play BF3 and Skyrim on high. You’d need at least:
AMD Phenom II X4 955 BE/ Intel i3-2100
Asus M5A97/ Asrock H61M U3S3
2x2GB G. Skill Ripjaws DDR3-1333 CL9 (Any DDR3-1333 RAM will do)
HD 6850 or GTX 460 1GB

some programs, especially CPU intensive applications like video editors, video encoders, and video games, can take advantage of quad-core processors. plus, you can run 4 programs, each on a different core, with a quad-core processor.
