This is an instructional step-bystep guide on how to install RAM into your computer. My computer is an old Emachine that had 512MB ram, but once I upgraded the CPU to Office 2007, the computer slowed down…big time…So, here I am, installing the new 1G Kingston RAM I just bought from ebay, and me learning along with you, how to install this thing.

Question by Matthew B: Is it possible to install a PS3 cell processor on a Computer?
Hi. My ps3 recently took a major shit and i’m using it for spare parts now, and since it won’t even turn on, i was wondering if i could take the Cell Processing Unit off of the ps3 and put it on my computer. If you can’t put new processors on a computer, then don’t read my stupid question.
[EDIT] Can you also put the PS3 RSX on a computer? Thanks.

heh, no, its not possible

Modern processor are socket based. Even if you can get your hands on a new unused Cell microprocessor, you cannot possibly fit it into any new or old motherboard.

That said, the Cell microporcesson is soldered on the PS3 board. You can’t possibly plug it out like you can with normal processor

They do not use socket concept, as its not meant to be sold to end users. They are sold to the industry to be soldered on other hardware circuit boards.

Here, as you can see

All chipset are soldered on the board

Question by sweetlilith: A website to help me find my perfect computer? Easy to install different processors? Computer shopping.?
And it will tell me based on my selections which computers match regardless of brand? Example: Say I put in that I want an Intel Core i5 processor, at least 4GB DDR3 RAM, 500GB HDD space, and a 15″ or smaller screen. Then I want the website to be able to tell me which computers match these specs (I have more specs than this that I want, and I would like to have a range instead of exact numbers, i.e. 10″-15″ screen) regardless of what brand it is (so I don’t want like Dell’s website, or Toshiba’s). I was thinking maybe Best Buy or another computer retailer might have something like this, but if possible I’d like something on a larger scale so I can search beyond just that store’s inventory. I’d like it to tell me all the possible matches based on what is on the market right now, and then I could go look for that model at different retailers. I know something like this has to exist, but I am not even sure how to search for it. I am tired of clicking on hundreds of computers at online retailers, just to find that something about the specs don’t match. I also can’t afford to have a computer custom built. I am REALLY looking for something like HP’s tablet touch-screen notebook, but I refuse to have an AMD processor because when I have had them in the past it feels like my computer may catch flame at any moment. While we are on the subject of computer purchasing, does anyone know how difficult/expensive it would be to buy one of those tablet PCs I was talking about, and replace the AMD processor with a Intel Core i3-i7? That would pretty much be my perfect computer. Or does anyone know of anything similar? I am trying to avoid a Toshiba, they used to be my favorite brand (I remember having one that was like five inches thick back in “the day” lol) but the last one I had (and the reason I am shopping) is because the screen started going out soon after purchase, overheating problems, battery problems, random HDD crashes, freezing, etc. has sworn me off the brand unless I find something that is just EXACTLY what I am looking for.

any modern laptop will be fine for you they can all be bought with high specs, only ram in a laptop can easily be upgraded, disks are more difficult and processors and graphics cards hardly at all
